Settling for Less by Rod Parsley

Settling for Less Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:1-2 My visit to the garbage dump in Guatemala touched me deeply. As I watched children digging for food, I noticed a dead animal in their midst. The vultures had picked it clean, but the bones remained. The children tripped over the carcass as they ran to get the new garbage being thrown off the truck. A couple children fell and cried because they'd missed their chance at the "good stuff " because of the dead thing in the way. We also live with the bones of our past in the way. We trip over them, hurting ourselves over and over again because we can't get past them. The dead things in our lives are past sins, or sins committed against us that we can't or won't forgive. If we can't get past it, then the bones lie there for us to trip over every day. The bones of our past tell us we deserve nothing better than what we have... but that is not what God says. God wants to lift you out of your dump and into the good life He has planned for you. Let the promises of God's Word set you free. Don't settle for less... not for another day!
