No Compromise Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. 1 John 3:3 There is a cancer running through many churches today-it is the cancer of compromise. It is the notion that we have to be like the world in order to win them to Christ. This is a ploy of the devil. Jesus never compromised in order to win people to the Father. He presented Himself as He was and let people choose. When Christians compromise, everybody loses. You and I have only one thing to offer the world... it is the one thing they can't get anywhere else in creation-the unchanging Gospel of Jesus Christ. Romans 12:2 says, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will." Our message is not watered-down, secondhand, whitewashed, or a finely-wrapped dead religion. It is food, life, a lamp, it is a light and it is powerful. Compromise will not cause the world to turn to Christ-but when sin-sick people see us walking in holiness and purity, and offering a way out of bondage, filth and oppression, they will want to know more.
