A Willing Spirit by Rod Parsley

A Willing Spirit Thanks be to God-through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. Romans 7:25 How often have we said the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak? We often recite that Bible verse almost flippantly, without realizing what we are saying. It becomes almost a 'cute' thing to say when we are tempted by something. There is an old Latin proverb that says: "He conquers twice who conquers himself in victory." How true that is! To conquer our sins is one of the most difficult things we have to do in our lives on earth, because we are tempted almost every day. General George S. Patton said, "Accept the challenges so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory." If you accept the challenges when they come around, and take up the sword against them, you will be taking steps toward changing your history of defeat and experiencing victory! Deuteronomy 20:4 says, "For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory." Accept the challenges you face in life daily, and trust God for victory-for with Him on your side, you can defeat any enemy! Further Reading Matthew 12:20 Psalms 13 Romans 8:35-37
